These principles that David followed when he faced personal attack apply to every challenge we will face in life. Here they are:
1. Earnestly seek to know God’s wisdom through His Word for the circumstances you are facing.
2. Determine to wait on God’s leading and timing as you follow God’s wisdom and allow Him to lead you in each step as you journey through the painful circumstances of life.
3. Refuse to lag behind or move ahead of God’s lead, trusting that He has brought or allowed this pain into your life for a purpose at the right time and that it will last for the right length of time.
4. Wait for God to bring deliverance and never resort to retaliation, manipulation, or any self-determined method to get out of your problems.
Instead of focusing on and striving for finding a solution to our problem, we need to wait on God for Him to work according to His plan. In each of these situations, we could either find our own solution and follow it, maybe even with success or move ahead of God in the direction He wants. Either way, we miss God’s best for our lives. We need to wait on God for His deliverance in His timing.
But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the LORD;
I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.
(Micah 7:7)
